“Life is about using the whole box of crayons” – Unknown // This quote seemed just about perfect for this colorful Pilsen mural family photo session!
I met Heidi two years ago when her little girl, Ainsley, had her one year cake smash photo session. Fast forward two years and Heidi contacted me to ask about a family photo session with her, her husband, Ainsley and now little Beck, who is one. I love so much to work with clients again and see how their families have grown! As we discussed dates and locations Heidi mentioned that she loved my wedding and engagement photo’s at the colorful artistic murals around Chicago and wondered if we could do her family session in front of one of those! We now had to seek out a colorful mural that was more art and less graffitti, ahem, family friendly 🙂 Enter in the amazing Pilsen neighborhood with 16th street full of colorful murals. The mural we used was perfect, at the corner of 16th and Morgan! I immediately LOVED everything about this Pilsen mural family photo session idea!
As a Chicago family photographer, you always cross your fingers that the little ones will be in a good mood for the shot and all will go smoothly, believe me, it’s sometimes no small task! And…come on now….these little ones are just the cutest ever can we all agree? They were having so much fun playing that their natural smiles just made my job easy! We did at one point also attempt a cake smash with Beck for his one year birthday, but he really wasn’t digging it as much as the wagon 🙂 Heidi and David, thank you so much for thinking of me and this amazing idea for such a fun colorful Pilsen family photo session! xo – Lisa
