“The bond that links your true family is not one of blood, but of respect and joy in each others life” – Richard Bach // This quote is perfect for this Lincoln Park Family Photography Session
Sammie, the daughter of this lovely family contacted me asking if I ever do family photography sessions with adult children and their parents. Although this request is less common than families with small children, I have done quite a few Chicago family photography sessions just like this and I love it! I know it’s harder to do as people grow into their own lives and go their separate ways, but family is family. There was a special reason that Sammie was organizing this Lincoln Park Family Photography session as well. She had just accepted a job in Sydney, Australia and really wanted some professional family photo’s to frame for her new home so far away (how sweet is this?).
We met at the Lincoln Park Nature Boardwalk on a gorgeous summer evening for this Chicago family photography session. Let me tell you, this family is just the sweetest ever. I swear they all got along splendidly and actually enjoyed each others company. Mom, Dad and Sammie’s brother all told me that they have all already purchased tickets to Australia to visit Sammie – seriously, how cool is that? We utilized all of the cool area’s around Lincoln Park for these photos and the flowers and skyline at dusk certainly did not disappoint that night. My absolute favorite photo was when I asked the family to walk away from me as I captured the skyline at dusk and they naturally put their arms around each other – I can’t make this stuff up! That photo is not only a reminder of the bond this family has, but where they came from with the Chicago Skyline beside them. I wish Sammie and her family nothing but the best with all the new adventures to come! xo – Lisa
