“I will send a fully armed battalion to remind you of my love! Da da da dat da dat da da da da ya da”-King George: Hamilton // This romantic Chicago proposal photography session happened after the couple saw Hamilton, this quote seemed appropriate.
Dan contacted me about a month ago asking if I was available for a late-night proposal photography session that he was planning for his girlfriend, Emily. His plan was to drive in from Bloomington, IL, where the couple now resides for a romantic night in Chicago and take his love to go see Hamilton the musical which she had been dying to see. After the show he wanted to find a “non-touristy private area” where he could read Emily a love letter and then get down on his knee and ask her to be his wife (insert awe!). I was available and we immediately started researching locations. Dan was the one who found this amazing location – a public art installation of Chagall’s Four Seasons that was just a block from the theatre. He also asked me if I could “spice it up” somehow with candles or rose petals. Welllll I had just had an 80’s party and immediately I thought that I could bring a whole bunch of glow sticks that would compliment the art piece and make a heart on the ground – Dan loved the idea and the rest is history!
This Chicago proposal photography session was so special, you can just the emotion on Emily’s face. These two are just the cutest! After the proposal we walked over the the Chicago Theatre as well as the Chicago Riverwalk to get some additional photo’s for the whole Chicago experience. I cannot thank Dan and Emily enough for trusting me to make this moment every bit as special as their love – and that may be the cheesiest line I have ever written, but so true! xo – Lisa
