“Then love shook my heart like the wind that falls on oaks in the mountains” – Sappho // This quote is perfect for the beautiful, windy day I photographed Barbara and Adam’s Adler Planetarium wedding.
Barbara and Adam contacted me month’s ago to inquire about being their wedding photographer for their Adler Planetarium wedding planned for the following September. Barbara works with one of my past clients and was referred to me (thanks Julie!!). I met Barbara and Adam for coffee to discuss their wedding and to get to know each other better. The couple had just moved to Chicago from New York and were planning a classy Chicago wedding at the Adler Planetarium. The couple explained that although the wedding was going to be formal attire, they wanted the feel of the day to be more like a party and less like a stuffy wedding. My kind of couple! I love when couples make their wedding day their own and keep true to what and how they want the day to feel!
As the wedding day approached the weather gods were kind to us, it was 65 and sunny – amazing! We started off the day at the Loews Hotel getting ready and when Barbara told me that she brought along confetti and wanted to throw it in the air right before putting on her dress I was like “let’s do this”! After getting ready we headed to Olive Park for the couples first look and portraits of the wedding party. Despite the crazy wind on the shore of Lake Michigan, the couple’s Adler Planetarium wedding ceremony was something out of a fairytale. As the sun went down behind the iconic Chicago skyline Barbara and Adam vowed forever to each other.
It was my honor to be Barbara and Adam’s wedding photographer and capture their amazing Adler Planetarium wedding! Thanks so much! xo, Lisa
